Answer will be 6 whole 79/90.

Length of the three pieces cut off = 1 ➕ 2/5 m, 2 ➕2/3 m, 4 ➕5/9 m=7/5, 8/3, 41/9

Length left = 31/2-(7/5+8/3+41/9)

= 31/2-(63+120+205/45)

=31/2-388/45

= 6 whole 79/90 m
