From a solid cylinder whose height is 16 cm and radius is 12 cm ,a conical cavity of heiht 8cm and of base radius 6 cm is hollowed out find the volume and total surface area of remaining solid

remainig total surface area= 905.14

volume of cylinder = πr²h

=22/7*12*12*16=67584/7 cm³


volume of cone= 1/3πr²h

=1/3*22/7*6*6*8 =2112/7 cm³

remaining volume = volume of cylinder -volume of cone

67584/7-2112/7 =65472/7 = 9353.14 cm³


surface area

surface area of cylinder = 2πrh

=2*22/7*12*16 = 8448/7 cm²

surface area of cone = πr(l+r)

=22/7*6*16                 (  l=√r²+h².)

=2112/7 cm²


rmaining surface area =8448/7-2112/7

=6336/7=905.14 cm²
