Heya friend!!
Rajdeep here....

Do you know about the metal reactivity series??
K
Na
Ca
Mg
Al
Zn
Fe
Ni
Sn
Pb
H
Cu
Hg
Ag
Au
Pt

Now, note, that ONLY the metals above hydrogen in the reactivity series can displace hydrogen gas from dilute acids. Copper is a metal which is present below hydrogen, so it cannot liberate H2 gas from dilute acids.

Zn + 2HCl -----> ZnCl2 + H2
But,
Cu + 2HCl ------> (No reaction)

Thanks!
