let the 2 hemispheres scooped out form a sphere of radius=4.2
therefore volume removed from cylinder=volume of sphere=(4π(4.2)^3)/3 =98.784π cm^3
volume of cylinder after removal=176.4π-98.784π=77.616π cm^3
this volume gets converted into new cylinder of diameter=4.2cm
therefore radius=2.1cm
volume of new wire=4.41πhcm^3
where h is required height
now
4.41πh=77.616π
therefore h=17.6cm
