Question: While, the grand mother learnt how to read, the narrator also learnt certain things from this experience. What do you think she learnt?

may be we can add, she have learnt to understand her grand mother's skill set in learning to read. Or her grand mothers dedication towards reading.

she leart that education is very very important ,,without it you are not mentally independent..
