Answer:

Bond like. Covalent Bond, Hydrogen Bond.

Explanation:

You See Next Page , NCERT classified Polymers on the basis of intermolecular Forces.

  • Elastomer
  • Fibre
  • Thermoplastic
  • Thermosetting.

Elastomer have Covalent Bond ex,Rubber(Cis 1-4 polyisoprene), BunaS

  • Fibres have hydrogen Bond ex, polyamide(Nylon 2,6 Nylon 6,6)
  • Thermoplastic B/W two.
  • Hope Helpes You
  • It is Directly asked In NEET 2018 Exam.

According to my knowledge :

These are under classification on the basis of structure of polymer :

1] Linear ploymer:

These polymer have long straight chain. hence high surface area and high vanderwaal force of attraction

this results in high B.P. and M.P. and high density and high tensile strength.

eg.--> HDPE (High density polyethene), PVC etc.

2] Branched polymer:

In this category linear chain are also attracted with few side chain this results in decrease in surface area and the strength of van derwaal forces they have low B.P. , M.P., density and tensile strength.

eg.--> LDPE (Low density polyethene)

3] Cross linking ploymer:

They have multifunctional monomer which are joint together by strong covalent bond. they have excessive brainching which results in formation of 3-D network. and becomes hard and britle

eg.--> bakelite and melamine.
