ANSWER :-

  • 3/2 x² + 2/3 x + 1.

TO FIND :-

  • The answer.

SOLUTION :-

  • [ Let's find the sum of x² + x + 1 and x² - x + 1]

→ (x² + x + 1) + (x² - x + 1)

→ x² + x + 1 + x² - x + 1

→ x² + x² + x - x + 1 + 1

→ 2x² + 2

Hence the sum of x² + x + 1 and x² - x + 1 is [2x² + 2]

  • [ Now according to question we have to subtract (-1/-2)x² - (2/3)x + 1 from 2x² + 2 ]

→ [2x² + 2] - [(-1/-2)x² - (2/3)x + 1]

→ [2x² + 2] - [(1/2)x² - (2/3)x + 1]

→ 2x² + 2 - (1/2)x² + (2/3)x - 1

  • [ On collecting the like terms]

→ 2x² - (1/2)x² + (2/3)x + 2 - 1

→ (4x² - 1x²)/2 + (2/3)x + 1

→ 3/2 x² + 2/3 x + 1

Hence the required answer is 3/2 x² + 2/3 x + 1.
