from the top of a buliding the angle of elevation of the top of a tower is 60° and the angle of depression of its foot is 45° . determine the height of the tower.

CE=BD=7m

<BCD=45° (ANGLE OF DEPRESSION)

<ACB=60° (ANGLE OF ELEVATION)

Now in triangle BCD

tan45= BD/BC

1= 7/BC

BC= 7m ------1)

now in triangle ABC

tan60= AB/BC

root3= AB/7m

AB= 7root3

height of tower= AB+BD

==> 7 root3+ 7

==> 7( root3+1 )
