From the top of a tower of height 40 m a ball is

projected upward with a speed of 20

1 ms

at an

elevation of 30°. The ratio of the total time taken

by the ball to hit the ground to its time of flight

(time to come back to the point of projection) is

(g = 10

2 ms

)

Given:-

S = 40m

θ = 30 degree

u = 20m/s

Solution:-

Therefore

T = \frac{2Vsin\theta}{g}

T = \frac{2* 20 * sin30}{10}

T = 2 sec\\

thus time taken to flight is  2 sec..

so,

Total time is

time = \frac{Distsnce}{speed}

t = \frac{40}{20sin30}

= 4sec

therfore the ratio is

= 4 ; 2

= 2 : 1
