Terrestrial organism's take up ok oxygen from the atmosphere where as aquatic animal need to utilised oxygen present in the water . Air contain more O2 as compared to water.Since the content of O2 in air is high, the Terrestrial animal do not have to breathe faster to get more oxygen.
