The airplane won't be able to move as the stramlined shape would be lost. The head of the airplane is shaped like a bird for smooth movement, if it is flattened, the air resistance would be too much and the airplane would fall. 
If it doesn't falls, the plane would have to exert a lot of power to fly in the sky to overcome the air resistance.
