Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

I beleive Question misses some information

as it can be page numbers

359  & 361    Then total = 4 pages

238 , 240 , 242  Then Total = 6 Pages

177 , 179 , 181 , 182  , then total =  8 pages

in this way there can be different cases

so we can not get any unique solution.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of pages that Pradip tore off be n and let the number of the first of these be a.  n/2[2a + (n – 1)d] = 720 where d = 1

n[2a + n – 1] = 1440

The  number  of  pages  n= twice  the  number  of leaves.

2a + n – 1 has to be odd.

a ≥ 1

n < 2a + n – 1.

n = 32 and 2a + n – 1 = 45 follows.  a  =  7.

Pradip  tore  off  the  32  pages numbered 7, 8, .... 38.

The total is ((7+38))/2)(32) = 720.

the number of pages torn is 32
