There are two types of Endoplasmic Reticulum, one is SER and RER. SER stands for Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum and RER stands for Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum.

There are many functions of both of them. The main function of Endoplasmic Reticulum is producing proteins and producing hydrolytic enzymes of the lysosome.
