- Support :- Stem bears branches, leaves, Flowers and fruits. Leaves are arranged in such a way that they are exposed to plenty of sunlight.
- Transportation :- The Stem transports water, minerals and food to all Parts of the Plant. A Set od thin tubes from roots are connected to thin tubes in the stem. Watee and Minerals pass through those tubes.
- Food Manufacturing :- Green Stem Can Make food as in case of Cactus.
- Food Storage :- The Stem act as the store house of food meterial as in case of potato, Onion, Garlic, Ginger.
- Perennation :- Certain Underground stems like potato, Garlic And GINGER help the plant to tide over unfavourable climatic conditions. Thia is Perennation.
