1. Support :- Stem bears branches, leaves, Flowers and fruits. Leaves are arranged in such a way that they are exposed to plenty of sunlight.

3. Food Manufacturing :- Green Stem Can Make food as in case of Cactus.
4. Food Storage :- The Stem act as the store house of food meterial as in case of potato, Onion, Garlic, Ginger.
5. Perennation :- Certain Underground stems like potato, Garlic And GINGER help the plant to tide over unfavourable climatic conditions. Thia is Perennation.
