Tracheids are elongated , tube like cells with thick and lignified walls and tapering ends, these act as water transporting elements in plants.

Vessel is a long cylindrical tube like structure made up of many cells with lignified walls and a large central cavity called as vessel members, it also helps in transporting water in plants.

Xylem parenchyma cells are living and thin walled made up of cellulose. Their function is to store food material in the form of fat or starch.

Xylem fibres present in xylem having highly thickened walls and obliterated central lumen. They provide mechanical support.
