Plants have transport systems to move food, water and minerals around. These systems use continuous tubes called xylem and phloem. Xylem carries water and minerals from the roots to the leaves while Phloem carries sugar & other organic nutrients made by plant from the leaves to the rest of the plant.

xylem are dead pipes made of dead cell and transport water and mineral from soil

but Pholem are living cell that passes nutrients from each cell making pipes
