the law of conservation of mass states that mas can neither be created nor be destroyed during a chemical change.
for example:

sodium carbonate+hydrochloric acid -------> carbon dioxide + sodium chloride
        (4.0g)                    (10.0 g)                         (2.5g)                         (11.5g)

here the total mass of reactants = 4.0g + 10= 14g
         the total mass of products = 2.5 + 11.5g = 14g
 therefore, reactants = products
