If there is no relaxation at all between stimuli, but rather a smooth sustained contraction, it is called “Fused Tetanus”, “Complete Tetanus” or just plain “Tetanus.” If there is some relaxation between the stimuli, the contraction is referred to as “Unfused Tetanus" or Incomplete Tetanus"
