Fused sodium metal reacts with ammonia

When sodium reacts with ammonia it forms  sodium amide. The catalyst used in the reaction is iron Fe (NO3 )3 .
when sodium metal reacts with ammonia sodium amide will be formed

2 Na + 2NH3  → 2NaNH2  + H2
