4s ^{2}  - 4s + 1 \\  \\  = 4s^{2}  - (2 + 2) + 1 \\  \\  = 4s^{2}  - 2s - 2s + 1 \\  \\  = 2s (2s - 1) - 1(2s - 1) \\  \\  = (2s - 1) \: (2s - 1) \\  \\  = (2s - 1)^{2}
