Answer:

Total number of tiles required= 5920.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Garden is 40 m long and 30 m wide a two meter wide path is to be paved using 25 cm × 20 cm size

To find : How many such tiles will be required

Solution :

We have given the length and breadth of the garden 40 m long and 30 m wide.

The area of the garden is

A= length \times width

A= 40 \times 30

A= 1200 m^2

A two meter wide path is to be paved,

So, the length = 44 m and breadth = 34 m

Area of the pathway is

A= length \times width

A= 44 \times 34

A= 1496 m^2

The area in which tiles is to be paved is

Area = 1496-1200 =296 square meter.

We have given the length and breadth of the tiles 25cm long and 20 cm wide.

Convert cm into m

1m=100cm

1cm=1/100 m

25cm = 0.25 m

20 cm=0.20 m

The area of the tiles is

A= length \times width

A= 0.25 \times 0.20

A= 0.05 m^2

Number of tiles = Total area / area of tiles

T= \frac{296}{0.05}=5920

Therefore, Total number of tiles required= 5920.
