NEET exams have been newly introduced in the country. There are both advantages and disadvantages associated with the exam. So, it cannot be considered wholly as either a bane or a boon. The following are some reasons for and against NEET.

Advantages

# The number of seats for MBBS students across the country is very less. Often, for each of the colleges, there are separate tests. This results in incurring huge expenses to avail the application forms and to travel to the exam center located in different parts of the country. These expenses are reduced with just a single exam for admission to a college in any part of the nation.

# The pressure on students is less. Because there is only one exam, students do not have to study the syllabus of various boards and states. Having to focus only on a single syllabus makes them more confident. There is also no concern about a particular college giving preference to a certain board.

# Since it is the same exam for government and private colleges, there is no scope for corruption in the latter. This means that you will not have to spend a fortune on donation.

Disadvantages

# Rural students often do not have the same syllabus as their urban counterparts. Therefore, they have less chances of getting admitted into reputed colleges.

# The above mentioned students were not given opportunities to attend extra coaching classes unlike urban students.
