sauravs age =7x

After 3 years
gauravs age=4y=5x+3
sauravs age=5y=7x+3

equation from gauravs age
4y=5x+3
5x+3=4y
5x-4y+3=0
equation from saurabs age
5y=7x+3
7x+3=5y
7x-5y+3=o

It is given that Gaurav and Saurav ages are in the ratio of 5:7, which can be expressed as,

Gaurav=5x

Saurav=7x

Now after 3 years their ages will be,

Gaurav=5x+3

Saurav=7x+3

And it is also given that now their ratio is 4:5,

so, the equation for Gaurav can be written as,

5x+3=4y     _(1)

And for Saurav can be written as,

7x+3=5y     -(2)

Hence, the equations formed are 5x+3=4y and 7x+3=5y.
