Step-by-step explanation:

Let C.P of motorcyle be Rs. X

S.P of gaurav =

= x - 28% of x

= x - 28x/100

= 72x/100

C . P of Vikas = 72x/100

Repair = 1680

S. P of Vikas= Rs. 35910

C. P of Abhimanyu = 35910

Gain = 12.5%

S.P for Abhimanyu = 100/112.5 × 35910

= Rs. 31920

So to get the actual S. P for Gaurav, the CP for Vikas needs to be subtracted from repair.

SP for gaurav = Rs 31920 - 1680

= Rs 30240

CP for gaurav = 100/72 × 30240

= Rs. 42000 ( Ans )

Answer:

42000

Step-by-step explanation:

Let cost price of the motorcycle for  Gaurav = x.

Gaurav sold his motorcycle to Vikas at a  loss of 28%.

Gaurav Selling price = 72x/100 = 0.72x.

Vikas spent $ 1680 on its repairs and sold the motorcycle.

Cost price of vikas motorcycle = 0.72x + 1680.

He sold the motorcycle to  Abhimanyu for $ 35910.

=> 12.5 = 35910 - (0.72x + 1680)/0.72x + 1680 * 100

=> (34230 - 0.72x) * 100 = 12.5 * (0.72x + 1680)

=> 3423000 - 72x = 9x + 21000

=> 3402000 = 81x

=> x = 42000

Hence, Cost price of motorcycle for Gaurav = 42000
