Gud mrng..
Step 1 - Admit you have a problem. Call it what it is: an addiction. Admit to yourself and to someone else that your social media use is unhealthy.
Step 2 - Make a decision to quit. Don’t go back and forth. Don’t rationalize your using. Just decide that you will no longer be a slave to Facebook updates, tweets or snaps. Decide you’ll do whatever it takes to overcome this addiction.
Step 3 - Delete all your social media profiles. Yes. Delete them all! You won’t die. It will be OK. Your friends will still be alive even if you kill your Facebook profile. I promise!
Step 4 - Remind yourself each day why you quit and what you’ll do with your time and freedom now. The average American spends 50 minutes a day on Facebook alone. Choose a new activity to replace the time you were wasting on social media. Read books and blogs about how pointless and unhealthy social media is. Indoctrinate yourself to your new worldview!
Step 5 - Start a blog. This may seem out of place but stick with me. If you want to still share things with others and document your life then start a blog. Unlike social media you can own your own domain name www.yourname.com. Mine is jmonen - daily blog. Blogging is much more rewarding than social media. You’ll be contributing useful things to the world instead of wasting your life scrolling and scrolling watching random updates from other people.
