The physical properties of halogens (group 7 elements in the periodic table):

All halogens are coloured. For example, chlorine is a green gas. Bromine is brownish red. Iodine is dark purple. The lower you go down the group the darker the colour of the halogen gets.

The states halogens are in at room temperature varies and there is a trend in state down the group. Fluorine and chlorine are gases, bromine is a liquid, iodine and astatine are solids.

Melting and boiling point is generally low and increases down the group.
