If it is about Indian grapes then it is related to the temperature in grape growth development season. Sugar development is a function of “degree days” a combination of temperature and light hours. From Jun to September there is cloud cover due to monsoon and thereafter low temperature as winter sets in. Therefore grapevines get less degree days and produce less sugars in the fruit. Whereas grapes harvested from Februaey onwards get plenty of sunshine and higher temperature therefore they develop good sugars. Internationally consumers prefer sugars of 16% and above. But Indians have sweet tooth and they like sugars upto 19%
hope this helpsssssss XD
