Genes related to one character has two contrast traits. But only one among them is considered as dominant. Only one will express itself while the other allele remain suppressed. The one which expresses itself is called dominant allele. It can express itself on both homozygous and heterozygous condition. The other one which is not expressed in heterozygous condition is recessive allele.

Yes this statement is correct but to understand this you have to know about law of inheritance.

Like when we take an example of a plant it will have dominant character and recessive character because dominance character of the gene will be dominated by TT.

If there will be two same alleles then they will be known as homozygous and if different then heterozygous.
