Hybridization is a technique of plants for crop improvement. This technique is used in sexually reproducing plants, It involves the mixing of the characters of two parent plants of the same species. By hybridization, a new plant with desired genes is produced. Thus , plant hybridization results in the formation of new varieties. It is also called cross breeding and the the new plant produced by hybridization is called hapybrid.

The Genetic engineering is the industrial use of microorganisms or living cells of plants and animals for large-scale production of substances useful to mankind as food, medicines, vaccines, antibodies, chemicals, vitamins and hormones.
