Speciation can occur due to geographical and reproductive isolation. This is caused due to mating difference, sterility, and environmental barrier which lead to adaptive splitting into two species. Also internal barriers are required to gene flow from one species to another. Thus speciation can also occur due to geographical and reproductive isolation.
