in October , 1896 , Helen joined the Cambridge school for the young ladies , to be prepared for Radcliffe . Helen successfully completed her first year at Gilman school but in the second year she had to be pulled out of the school because of some differences between Mr Gilman ans Miss Sullivan . Helen studies under a private tutor Mr Keith and passed all exams successfully . She then managed to join Radcliffe College . But her college proved to be an illusion for she realized that one went to college to learn and not to think . She felt pacticaaly alone in the classroom , the professors appeared as remote and the lectures were spelled into her hand with great difficulties .
