• Take two identical pieces of cork.

• Take a beaker and fill it about three-fourths with water.

• Put one piece of cork in the water and push it.

• Now take the same quantity of glycerine or mercury in another beaker.

• Put another piece of cork in it and push it.

• You will notice this that your finger experiences more thrust in glycerine or mercury than in water.

Conclusion

It means liquid of greater density exerts more upthrust on the body than liquid of lower density.
