Explanation:

When a person or a body moves along a path (circular or rectangular) and comes back to its initial position than the displacement of that body will be zero and distance travelled by body depend upon the revolution of body. So there athlete moves on circular path and travelled half of round that means travell half of the perimeter of the circle of radius 7 metre.

So in this case distance and displacement will be different

Let's calculate the distance travelled by the athlete

Distance =length of the perimetre of the circle multiplied by half

[math]Distance=(22÷7)×radius[/math]

[math]=(22÷7)×7[/math]

[math]=22 metre[/math]

Now displacement will be equal to the diameter of the circle that's[math] 14 metre[/math]
