There are 2 types of cartilage cells, chondroblasts and chondrocytes. Chondroblasts build up cartilagetissue, and once they are mature and are surrounded by the matrix ofcartilage, they are called chondrocytes. Cartilage has many important functions in thebody.

It can bend a bit , but resist stretching.
