As the nichrome is a good conductor of electricity not as good as copper and aluminum thou it conduct .. But it takes its place due to its high melting point so you can just heat it up to a high degree° as it has high resistence .And can carry out your experiment easily ..which otherwise will fail due to some other conductors or coil such as copper and aluminum
