Uncle Khosrove, the enormous man, a powerful head of black hair with a large mustache  in San Joaquin Valley and a volatile temper, seems similar to Mourad in spirit.  He was very irritable and impatient so much so that he would stop anyone from talking. Having left Armenia perforce, Khosrove feels as if his true home and a part of his identity have been stripped away. This leads to a lack of belonging to the new land of Central Valley, California, where the Armenians have settled and a sense of frustrated anger. Thus, he is commonly observed to roar, "It is no matter. Pay no attention to it." Nothing is quite as important to him anymore and nothing quite as tragic or urgent. He was an extraordinary character, once his son Arak came running eight blocks to the barber's shop where his father was having his moustached trimmed to tell him that his house was on fire. But Khosrove just roared his patented response. He paid no heed to anything serious or trivial
