Character portrayal of Miranda:
Miranda is the daughter of Prospero, the banished Duke of Milan from William Shakespeare's famous play 'The Tempest'. Prospero, after his brother usurps the kingdom, runs away with his 3-year-old daughter Miranda. After a storm, he finds an island where lives with Miranda for 12 years.
When the play begins Miranda has never encountered any human being. Prospero, because of his sorcery enslaves two creatures called Caliban and Ariel. She grows up on the island as an innocent and compassionate girls, ignorant of the evils of the world. At the beginning of the play when she hears of the men who are drowning in the sea, she begs her father to use his magic and save them. When she sees Ferdinand after they are saved, she falls in love with him as she has never seen any human being in all her life other than her father.
Miranda, throughout the play is seen standing up against her father to prove the love of Ferdinand. She prepares to help Ferdinand with the chores that her father sets for him. She is a gullible girl, who grows up on the island, away from the harsh realities of the world. Finally she gets married to Ferdinand and when she sees many people on the island in the last scene, ans says 'How many goodly creatures are there here!'
Miranda is one of Shakespeare's most popular heroines. She is also the only female character of the play 'The Tempest'.
Miranda is the daughter of Prospero and the protagonist in William Shakespeares play, The Tempest.
In fact, she is very loyal to her father and does whatever he says.
It includes child nature and thus created every creature best.
However, she is the only women character in the play and pure child of nature.
It created of every creature best and scene in women before perhaps gives us reason.
