Hey mate,, here is ur ans..

Chemical test to distinguish between CO and H₂ are as follow:

If we oxidize CO in excess of O₂ ,it will give CO₂ gas and passing though lime water [Ca(OH)₂], it turns it milky.
                      CO  +  O₂ →  CO₂

            CO₂ +  Ca(OH)₂ →  CaCO₃  + H₂O

But hydrogen does not give this test.

Another test is to treat vegetable oils with hydrogen gas to give solid fat, but CO does not give this reaction.
Vegetable oil  +  H₂ → Fat

Vegetable oil  +  CO → No reaction

#hope it helps

if CO2 gas is passed from lime water, than it turns milky white.
but
if burning matchstick get near the hydrogen gas it gives a pop sound.
