COVID-19 or, Cornoavirus or, 2(SARS-CoV-2) you can name it any of 'em. But this virus casues Pandemic all over Globe.

First Identify

Everyone is wondering that this is new virus, but this isn't. This Virus was first identified in year 1937, that was responsible for “ Bronchitis in Birds ” & had potential to devastate poultry stocks.

Scientists found first evidence of human cornoaviruses in 1960s, in the nose of people with common cold and mild disease.

Wondering About Virus Name?

The name coronavirus comes from the crown-like projections on these viruses on the surface. “Corona” in Latin means “halo” or “crown.”

At the Middle of 2019, CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) started monitoring of new virus SARS-CoV-2, which causes COVID-19. Authorities first identified the virus in Wuhan, China.

Since then it spreaded all over Globe, leading the WHO (World Health Organization) to declare a pandemic.

Causes of Virus

First people with COVID19 had links to animals & seafood market. This suggest that animals initially transmitted the virus to humans.
