The poem my mother is a nicely written story of mother daughter conflict. When the daughter grows up and she get her confidence, she cannot be closer to her mom. Mom on the other hand cannot rely on her daughter and the generation gap remains persistent between both of them. Both of them try to bridge the gap but still the difference stays like an emotional barrier.
