The latitude of the circle is approximately the angle between the Equator and the circle, with the angle's vertex at Earth's centre.
  2. The lines of latitude are not all equal in length. It is because they are complete circles that remain equidistant from each other. Tthe lines of latitude vary in size from the longest at the equator to the smallest, which are just single points, at the North and South Poles.
