Give a reason why oiling or greasing is done on the exposed moving (iron) parts of machinery and not preffered on heavy stationary (iron) parts

Oiling or greasing is used to lubricate the moving parts .

In moving parts (iron) more heat may be produced due to fiction which leads to the formation of ferric oxide (rust) while in stationary heavy machineries the machine parts are mostly not exposed to heat and other factors for rusting ..

And there is no friction and it may not be possible to form rust in heavy iron machines

komaaldey: listen mate , i specifically told (iron) because I wanted it to be related with rusting
thrisha388: Please do check it..I'm not sure
komaaldey: its not available on net
thrisha388: Check my answer
komaaldey: thanks

Explanation:

Oil or grease on the exposed moving iron parts of machinery forms a coating which protects it from rusting. It reduces friction in the machinery. Oiling or greasing is not preferred on heavy stationary iron parts as red lead oxide paint is used on these parts.
