Give an account of adrenal gland.

Adrenal gland, also called suprarenal gland, either of two small triangular endocrine glands one of which is located immediately anterior to the kidneys.

The Adrenal gland is divided into two distinctive components:

1) Adrenal Medulla

2)Adrenal Cortex.

Hormones like Adrenaline and Noradrenaline are secreted by Adrenal medulla and Corticosteroids like Glucocorticoids (cortisol, cortisone, cortisterone) and Mineralocorticoids (aldosterone) are secreted by Adrenal cortex.
