The throne of Thaneshwar and Kannauj was ascended by Harshavardhana during the commencement of 7th century. He is also referred to as Raja Harsha.
In 612 CE he took full control over Pancha Sindhus of Punjab. Kannauj, Bihar, Orissa and other places. His supremacy was established with his defeat over north Indian kingdoms. He called himself as the king of Magadha.
