Answer: The Tripartite struggle between the Palas, the Pratiharas and Rashtrakutas took place in the ninth century. The struggle was about taking control on the northern part of India.

Firstly, it was conquered by the Rastrakuta ruler from the successor of Nagabhata II. Then his empire was started to decline by the Palas in the ninth century. It was then known by the name the Later Chalukya dynasty.. By the end of their rule on the southern part, Pratiharas won the war and established their empire in the central part of India.
