the cold weather season begins in from mid November in Northern India in February December and January the coldest month in the Northern plains of India.the temperature decreases from South to North the average temperature of Chennai on the eastern courses between 24 to 25 degree Celsius while in the Northern plains ranges between 10 degree Celsius to 15 degree celsius is a warm in night are cold Frost is common in the north and the highest slopes of Himalayas experience snowfall .

During this season the northeast trade winds prevail over the country. They blow from land to sea and hence, from most part of the country, it is a dry season

characteristic feature of cold weather season over the northern plains is the influence of cyclonic disturbances from west and the Northwest .These low pressure system orginate over the Mediterranean sea and Western Asia and more into India, along with westerly flow .
