Activity -
• Take a Lime water Ca(OH)2 which is formed by the reaction between CaO + H2O --> Ca(OH)2.
• Now, pass CO2 through the Ca(OH)2 which is Ca(OH)2 + CO2 ------> CaCO3 + H2O ,
here Calcium carbonate is formed.
• Finally check out the colour of calcium carbonate if it is milky in colour then it shows the presence of carbon dioxide.
