Answer:

(a) Test for CO2 gas (lime water test) When CO2 gas is passed through lime water, it turns milky due to the formation of insoluble calcium carbonate.

(b)  Hydrogen gas burns in the presence of air or oxygen with a pop sound when a burning candle is brought near it.

(c) O2: Bring a burning candle near the mouth of the test tube containing reaction mixture. If oxygen gas is present, then the intensity of the candle flame increases as oxygen supports combustion

Explanation:

Characteristic test for the following Gases :

1. CO2 gas :

If CO2 gas is passed to lime water [Conc. Calcium hydroxide solution], it turns milky white.

                           [OR]

As CO2 gas is a best fire extinguisher so, if we bring a burning match stick near the CO2 gas it turns off the burning match stick.

2. SO2:

Sulphur dioxide is a odorless and pungent gas.

Test : Sulphur dioxide gas turns acidified potassium dichromate solution from orange to green colour.

3. H2 gas:

If a burning match stick is brought near Hydrogen, the match stick burns with POP sound.

4. O2 gas :

O2 gas is a good supporter of Combustion. So if a burning match stick is brought near the gas it burns more vigorously.

If CO2 gas is passed to lime water [Conc. Calcium hydroxide solution], it turns milky white.
