Answer:

Kanishka was the most important ruler of the Kushana dynasty. He was the founder of the Saka era which started from 78 CE.He embraced Buddhism early in his life. The coins from his reign depict the image of not only Buddha but also Greek and Hindu gods. It reflects that Kanishka was tolerant towards other religions.

Many Buddhist chaityas and viharas upwere built in different places.

Kanishka patronised the Gandhara School of Art , which was e combination of the Graeco - Roman style of sculpture on Indian element . Kanishka also patronised the Mathura School of Art . Various images and sculptures were produced by this school. A large standing statue of the Buddha and a remarkable statue of headless Kanishka, are two examples of the Mathura School.
