Hello friend,

In case a solid solution is formed between two substances(one having very large particles and the other having very small particles) an interstitial solid solution will be formed. For example, a solution of hydrogen in palladium is a solid solution in which the solute is gas.

Hope this helps...!

Answer:

Solutions having solvent in solid-state and solute in the gaseous state are called gas-solid solution. Hydrogen is a gas at STP and platinum is solid. Hence, Hydrogen gas adsorbed on the surface of platinum is an example of gas in solid solution.
